[언니탐방] 게이대표 왕언니 김조광수
고질병인 안면인식장애 때문이었다. 이전에 여러 매체에서 본 광수언니 얼굴을 기억 못 한 건. 친구사이에서 맞게 된 첫 회의 도중, 조금 늦은 어떤 언니가 문을 열고 들어왔는데 풍성한 웨이브에 빨간 바지. 그리고 기갈. 속으로 생각했다. ‘우와~ 누군지 정말 게이 그 자체다!’ 당연히(?!) 광수언니였다. 그래서 또 속으로 생각했다. ‘역시 유명 게이는 다르구나.’ 그렇다. 광수언니는 유명 게이다. 인기 검색어도 종종 등장하신다. (도대체 뭣 때문에 ‘19세 연하 동성애인’을 그렇게 알고 싶어하는지 알 수는 없지만) 어떤 집단을 대표하는 모델이 된다는 것은 상당히 부담되는 일이다. 더군다나 광수언니는 홍석천씨와는 또 다른 지점에서 (누가 운동권 출신 아니랄까봐…) 사회적 혹은 성소수자 이슈에 대해 앞장서서 참가하고 발언하기 때문에 어떤 면에서는 정말 ‘게이 대표’ 같다.
하지만 그런 거 다 떠나서 이 언니 참 정 많다. 어떤 것들은 언니가 겪었던 것들이라 그 아픔을 진심으로 함께 한다는 느낌이 들 때도 있고, 어떤 것들은 소수자로서 느꼈던 것들이 또 다른 소수자를 위해 마음과 용기를 함께 내서 함께 한다는 느낌이 들 때도 있다. ‘그거 나도 다 겪어본 건 데 뭘 그래?’하는 사람이 얼마나 많은가를 생각해보면 언니 마음이 참 소중하고, 고맙다. 이 언니가 쫌만 한가해도 같이 오래 수다도 떨고 그랬으면 딱 좋겠는데 워낙 바쁘다. 이제 <두 번의 결혼식과 한 번의 장례식>이 개봉하니 더더욱 바쁘시겠지. 작년까지는 남부럽지 않은 빚을 안고 살다가 제작한 영화의 대박으로 이제 그 빚 다 털고 후련하게 만든 언니 영화도 잘 됐음 좋겠다. 하나 더. 게이대표이자 청년필름 대표, 영화감독, 또 한 사람의 인권운동가로 동분서주하는 언니가 아무 곳도 아프지 말고 예쁜 파트너와 오래오래 행복했으면 좋겠다.
