[인권] ILGA 국제 회의, 필리핀 마닐라에서 열린다

세계에서 가장 큰 국제 게이 레즈비언 연대체인 ILGA(The International Lesbian and Gay Association)의 국제회의가 11월 11일에서 18일까지 필리핀 마닐라에서, 아시아에선 처음으로 열리게 된다. ILGA의 국제 회의는 올해로 22번째를 맞이한다.
ILGA는 올해 ILGA 설립 25주년을 기념하며, 레즈비언, 게이, 바이섹슈얼, 트랜스젠더 등의 인권 투쟁에 관한 세계 회의가 될 것임을 천명했다.
동성애자를 비롯한 다양한 성적 소수자들의 인권을 위한 연대체인 ILGA는 지난 78년에 설립된 이래, 현재 350여 개의 전세계 풀뿌리 조직들과 NGO 단체로 발전했으며, 매년 세계 곳곳을 돌아다니며 '국제 회의World Conferences'를 주최해왔다.
아시아에선 처음으로 열리는 이번 국제 회의에선 아시아 내 동성애자 인권 운동 단체, 특히 젊은 인권 운동가들의 발언 기회가 많아질 예정이다. 국제 회의에선 다양한 토론, 문화 행사, 연대를 위한 파티 등 다채로운 행사도 곁들여진다.
한국 남성 동성애자 인권 단체인 '친구사이'도 이번에 처음 이 국제 회의에 참가할 예정이며, 한국 내 동성애자 인권 운동의 상황을 홍보할 계획이다.
